The building has been used for some scenes in the film Goya’s Ghosts by Milos Forman. During the restoration of the Palace in the summer of 2013, a 50 millimeter calibre mortar was found, and it was still active. It was embedded in the cover of one the access gates to the Palace. The intervention of the bomb disposal experts of the Guardia Civil, Tedax group, deactivated the bomb.
